She stepped forward.

“That would’ve been faster,” she said.

Not doubt.

she moved too soon.

A fraction.

Barely anything.

The step landed—

and the world felt wrong around it.

Then it caught up.

Aligned.

No one noticed.

She kept walking.

The city flowed around her—

unbroken—

unconcerned.

Because here—

being right didn’t matter.

Only arriving did.

And somewhere—

just ahead of where she was—

something shifted—

not visible—

not traceable—

just—

already there.

Waiting—

not for her to decide—

but for her

to reach the point

where she realized

she already had.
